St. Mallo with Mt. Meeker in the background...
Of all the times we have driven by this chapel and stopped to photograph it,
I think this is the best image we have.
I especially like how the mountain is bathed in sunlight
while cloud shadows glide across the landscape.
The fossilized stump of a giant redwood tree that was buried in a volcanic eruption
in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado millions of years ago.
The stump is located at the Florissant Fossil Beds west of Pike's Peak.
Balancing rock at the Garden of the Gods in Manitou Springs.
The top portion of this rock looks to me like a human figure
kneeling or sitting on their legs with their forehead bowed low.
The back is up and the head is to the right.
Becky waiting next to the cog train during the first snowstorm of winter on top of Pike's Peak.
At the top, I was almost struck by lightening and then started feeling a bit dizzy from the altitude...
I had to sit down for a few minutes-- Becky felt fine.
I like the rainy and very cool days like this when the clouds descend onto the mountains.
The only people you are likely to meet on the trail are those who seek solitude...
for it is easily found on days like this.
