This blackbird is cooling off on a 100 degree afternoon.
If I could be a bird, I might be this one -- he's big, beautiful and
not really concerned about all the drama of the smaller birds
being played out around him.
He is wondering what life is all about and it is beginning to
dawn on him that it is about having the experience of being a Bluejay.
It is about having feathers and wings to fly among the trees
and crack open sunflower seeds
and loudly warn everyone when the cat is on the prowl or the hawk flys over.
It's about gathering up those experiences
and adding them to the Stream of Consciousness from whence all life comes...
And then returning, perhaps as a different little bird, to peck open the egg shell
and do it all again.
